UX
Facilitate for a decision, not for a discussion
Workshops are structured with silent generation, structured voting, and a named decider, so alignment is produced instead of merely attempted.
How to run it
- 01
State the single decision the session must produce in the invite, and cancel if there is not one.
- 02
Use silent individual generation before any group discussion to avoid anchoring on the first idea spoken.
- 03
Vote with dots or a structured matrix rather than by open debate.
- 04
Name the decider in advance; voting informs them, it does not replace them.
- 05
End with the decision, the owner, and the date written down and visible before anyone leaves.
Anti-pattern this prevents
The four-hour alignment workshop that produces a photogenic sticky-note wall, no decision, and a follow-up workshop.
